Consumers are understandably baffled by the model numbers used for this Samsung TV. The Dixons Store Group (Dixons, PC World and Currys) use UE46B7000. The 46B7000 has a red tinged bezel surround to the monitor. While the 46B7020 has white edging to a platinum black finish – sometimes its called the 46B7000WW or 46B7020W. They’re all the same Television under the surface.

Build Quality: The most outstanding aspect of the UE46B7000 is that it could be described as the supermodel of Televisions, being specially thin. In fact it is something like 29mm in depth.Samsung has done well by ensuring that everything you want is included in the package, unlike some of its competitors who on occasion move key components out to a discrete box you have to find room for. Connectivity: The UE46B7000 has four HDMI connections, two USB, and a LAN (Local Area Network) one – future proof for now. The USB ports allow the playing of a wealth of multimedia file formats as well as to your wireless network (you will require a separate dongle.) And the LAN network connection allows straightforward access to files on your home network.

The principle remote control is a rather strangely shaped gadget, a bit similar to a shoehorn. A little uncomfortable to use at first, but OK once you’re used to it. Just on / off, volume and channel controls are on the second remote – in general OK for daily use, nevertheless.

Environmental considerations: In service the UE46B7000 uses only as much power as a light bulb – much less than most modern televisions.

Conclusion: Even with having only run of the mill audio quality, the UE46B7000 produces gorgeous pictures, with deep blacks and none of the slightly washed out looks that you can repeatedly get in LCD TVs.
