Dark Angel

There are all kinds of TV series that are available for your viewing pleasure. Some people who love it if Hollywood directors of the ilk of James Cameron as well as Steven Spielberg came up with TV shows. It may be somewhat incredible but James Cameron had created a science fiction show called Dark Angel. James Cameron is so well known for his block buster creations Avatar and Titanic and has had a film making history since 1984 when he produced the Terminator.

The Dark Angel TV show dates back to October, 2000 when it was launched in USA and Canada. In the US, the show was featured on the Fox network. Set in Seattle, Washington, it had just two seasons and 43 episodes in all. The story revolves around the story of Max Guevara who is a lab created soldier who is also enhanced genetically.

First Geneva Locke and then Jessica Alba essayed the role of Guevara on Dark Angel. The story talks of Max leaving at age 9 from a government ‘home’ along with 11 soldiers similar to her. This ‘home ‘ was a top secret institution called Manticore, where such humanoids were trained and also built to be high class assassins as well as efficient soldiers.

The very first episode is set almost 9 years after Guevara escapes from Manticore when she is already 19 years of age and is going out to look for her soldier brothers and sisters. The setting is such that the US is no longer a superpower but has become just another third world nation with its attendant problems and issues.

The government presses into service Colonel Donald Lydecker which is a role played by John Savage with the objective of getting back the escaped soldiers. Max has to always watch out for the Colonel. In her quest she teams up with Logal Cole a discreet journalist who wants to fight corruption. The role of Logal is played by Michael Weatherly. In addition to helping Cole, Max also plays the role of being a courier service person. Her mates in this include Original Cindy (Valarie Rae Miller), Herbal Thought (Alimi Ballard) and also Sketchy (played by Richard Gunn).

It’s quite certain that this would have whetted your appetite to know what happened in the episodes of this TV show, including the second season. You would no doubt be keen on knowing and seeing the special effects involved in lab creation of humans with human and animal parts.
